Across all of this experience and all of these industries I have found talking to stakeholders to be the skill that no one teaches, and the skill that teams most need. Learning this skill has made an immense difference in the work and careers of the people I work with. I have presented these ideas in talks and workshops, with positive responses, and requests to speak more widely.  This interest has led me to want to offer a resource to the community at large.

This book will show readers how to build better relationships with stakeholders through listening, understanding their business environment, and finding the outcomes and values that matter most to them. It will help you to:

  • deliver the most value for your client in “short time frame” and ambiguous projects

  • frame your work to have the most impact on actions and decisions
